Peter Helme of Mac DTS kindly provided a small chunk of code that finds the highest unoccupied slot in the unit table and renumbers the DRVR resource to ensure it is loaded there. Basically theres a ridiculously simple little INIT in there that opens the DRVR in the system heap, makes sure its in the unit table, and then makes sure that it wont go away when the INIT file is closed (by detaching the resource).
